Winona Senior High School Basketball

Winona Senior High Basketball: 1/500 f/3.5 ISO 3200On Thursday night the Winona Senior High Basketball Team rocked the gym and dominated their first game of the season. I struggled with the lighting in the gym but I was able to capture most of the action. I still need to get used to switching between sports. Tracking each sport requires a certain style and speed of shooting. So far Football is my favorite sport to photograph but it is also the most dangerous. The last game of the season this year I was almost leveled by the opposing teams linebacker as he came in for a tackle. Thankfully I had enough brains to jump out of the way before he made contact. As we speak the photos are being uploaded to digiproofs so that parents can order copies for themselves. As soon as I have this information available to me I will post it on this website and email those that have expressed interest. Also from now on after clicking on images to enlarge them I will also be including the exposure information for those that are interested as requested by another photographer.

As promised the pictures from Tuesdays game are up for purchase on www.digiproofs.com the password is “winonabb” without the quotes. If you have any questions or comments please leave a comment below.

  2. There is a custom function in the camera that enables extended ISO. Enabling this will allow you to shoot at ISO 3200. You can also simulate this by shooting 1 EV underexposed in ISO 1600 and push the exposure back up in photoshop. This method simulates the same process that the camera goes through.

Brady Whealon has worked as a professional photographer in the Midwest for the last 6 years and as a wedding photographer for the last 4. He usually works on location and has a very flexible shooting style. Currently looking for artists to collaborate with on larger projects
