Dancescape 2008 was a great success. The dancers and instructors did a wonderful job of getting everything coordinated for opening night. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to come in and photograph one of the dress rehearsals so that the photos could be used for publicity purposes. Ryan Hawkins, one of the stage managers, put together an awesome slideshow that was shown in the mail hall of the Performing Arts Center to all of the people attending the event. All in all I am very satisfied with the photos and I hope that the people over at Dancescape are too. You can click on the image above to see a gallery of images or you can click this Gallery Link
My good friend Andrew Verboncouer helped me out with a new gallery script base that I tweaked to fit with my site. I am pretty impressed with it so far and I love the ability to view images in a larger format as opposed to the internal galleries that limited the size greatly. For those of you that are interested I have included a link above ( click the picture ) to the new gallery and some recent infrared wedding and vacation pictures. Let me know what you think. If there are any suggestions for changes you are welcome to leave a comment.
It took me the better part of two months to really get after these images from my Winter break but they are finally here to stay! Overall the whole trip was amazing! One of my favorite experiences that I can remember in my life. I am really thankful that everyone came together last minute to help Lisa and I take a break from our lives.
I also need to thank KC for the fantastic Christmas gift of a helicopter ride. Some of the most stunning pictures from the whole trip were from the air and it was an amazing experience even though it was a little turbulent :). Enjoy!
Winona State Gymnastics team competed against the Lacrosse team last night in McCowan gym. There were a few individuals from Winona State that did a fantastic job individually and overall it was a really close meet. Winona State took home 180 points and Lacrosse squeaked by with 183. While I was there I ran around trying to get the best angles on each event. This was a real challenge for me because I had no idea what to expect. Overall it was a learning experience that was unlike anything I have ever done before.
The link above is to a gallery of images I took at this event. I love the spirit and the sense of unity this team gives off. Constantly supporting their members with chants and cheers. Enjoy!

Thomas Lake Park in Eagan MN has always yielded a high number of successful images for me. It is hard to imagine that something so close to home can bring such beauty to peoples lives. I think that Eagan has done a wonderful job of preserving it’s green spaces with parks and preserves for our families to enjoy. So go out and set an example for future generations by keeping the planet green and fighting for parks and preserves. Anyway this gallery is of images taken with an infrared camera. The surreal effect is really something that I have fallen in love with.
I am also announcing that I will be starting an article category to help those who wish to learn more about photography and photography related techniques.
